ok, it's been a long week for me and finally Friday arrived. I have been planning a hike to a favorite clothing optional place at Tanque Verde falls near Tucson. I went there last winter and the falls were flowing strong.

I was in such a hurry getting out of school late and trying to beat the sun down that I parked the car and started hiking down the trail. I reached the park sign that warns of dangerous water flow and possible drowning and I heard some ladies voices making their way up the trail to where I had parked my car. And then I noticed on the park sign that there was no "nudity ahead" etched into the metal sign, oops, I had gone down the wrong trail. I hurried out of there not wanting to expose myself to some ladies on a nice little hike.

I found the trail that I was originally aiming for, but a truck was driving up the road towards me, I crossed over to the trail just as the truck parked right next to my car. Hiking down the canyon I had no more encounters but discovered that there was no water flowing, and no water at all. It's been really dry here in AZ this year, rats!

I hiked back up the trail and along the main road with nothing but a butt(or fanny)pack and my vibram five fingers. I took another trail that lead along a higher ridge and emptied into the same canyon further up, still no water. Little drops of rain starting falling and I decided to start back to my car. It was the most enjoyable hike, not worrying about clothes to get wet.

When I arrived back at my car the rain had stopped and the truck was still there and no sign of the anyone around. My plan was to not have any contact or see anyone hiking so late in the day. It was a great hike though, can't wait for the next time.

Oh well, chalk it up too fun in the desert rain!
