First off, howdy to all on the forum. Been a somewhat dedicated reader since last year. And thank you for all the great insight and wisdom to life as a nudist being LDS.

I have many times throughout my life that have possibly contributed to my nudist life. None coming from my immediate family though, if my mother found out about my nudist life she would wig out and think of me as apostate.

My grandfather would often take some of the grandkids(boys/girls at different times) out on forest service projects in western AZ, we would base at a very primitive camp with no running water and would bath/shower at the nearby spring au natural. One year we as grandkids hiked(coed) up a nearby mountain and at the top by the forest service camp there were very attractive pools with waterfalls and all the cousins stripped and began swimming, of course one of the aunts didn't like the idea of adolescent cousins swimming together, so that was squibbed out fast.

With a mission in eastern Europe my eyes were opened even further to the how less concern was on public nudity. Ward beach events were very questionable, but as missionaries, we couldn't yell at them that they were doing wrong by continuing their own customs.

After my mission I tried free hiking and love the feeling of being myself. My wife didn't grow up in an open door house either, but she is very open now in our home. She won't join me in my free hiking(another story for that one later) but she is very supportive in my desire be nude in the home. Our kids are very easy going and are able to change in front of each other, or even come talk to us when we are using the bathroom, so doors are not usually closed in our home.

Being in the military has of course made private space almost non-existent, from showering at the gym or even in the office space. My office is known as the office you should knock on the door before entering.

During one deployment a couple years ago I worked with a bunch of soldiers from Europe and they had their own segregated space for sun bathing, and they were totally cool with an American hanging out with them, and their language was very close to my mission language. It was so great to be able to socialize without any clothes, nothing hiding, no worries on how you look. Since then, I have wanted to live in Europe to be able to be more free, but until then I live my life as a closet nudist with occasional outings to hike or run.

Of course there will be more to follow, have plenty of stories to share.

Hello Hiway!

Welcome, and thanks for the wonderful first post. From everything you've said, it sounds like you will fit right in, and I look forward to hearing about some of the other stories to which you alluded.

Another new member just asked why we don't make this entire forum private to only those who have joined. And this is exactly why we don't! I'm certain that for every person like you who reads for a long time before joining that there are many, many more who read and learn but never join. I think what we have to say should benefit everyone, and not just the members!

Where did you serve (if you don't mind saying?) And, I'd love to hear some storied about ward beach parties. I've got one of my own that I've shared numerous times on the forum. (I served in France).

Ditto, in the mountains around Provo. I only wish I'd done it more often.

Thanks for the welcomes, it's been great reading most of the forum posts...I did try to register previously but couldn't, maybe because I was overseas.

I served in Ukraine for my mission. Members offered us some speedos to wear to beach parties and said they didn't think we would want to go skinny...more to follow
