The original topic of being caught naked and fully exposed in the wrong place and at the wrong time reminded me of a situation I experienced many years ago when I was about 19. I went camping with my best friend, and my brother. We went high up into the Sierra Nevada Mountains because it was summer and hot down here in the Central California valley. I was driving my old beater of a 1964 Plymouth which did not have an air conditioner. At the end of our camping trip we took note of the extremely hot air blowing in through the windows as we descended the mountains into the valley. Someone suggested we stop at the bridge over the Consumnes River to cool off in the river. I pulled the car over on the shoulder and we walked down to the river. My friend and brother were wearing cut off jeans and t-shirts, however; I was not wearing cut offs and needed to change. While my friend and brother jumped into the river I walked over under the bridge to get out of site of passing cars on road to change into my cut offs. I stripped off my clothes and was standing naked under the bridge and as I turned around to pick up my cut offs I saw an elderly man and women a few feet away staring at me. At about this point I heard loud laughter coming from the river as my friend and brother noticed my predicament. I grabbed my shorts and proceeded to pull them on and fasten up all the while the elderly couple just stood their staring at me never saying a word. When I finished getting my shorts on I grabbed my clothes, smiled at the old couple, and left to join my friend and brother in the river.

I probably told this somewhere else, but coming back from a freehike with WA Freehikers in 2008 we stopped along a river to refresh and get all the trail dust off. Some of our group swam to the other side of the river and got out on the opposite shore. Finally, one noticed that on that side of the river they were in full view of a restaurant that was built to overlook the river and was all windows on the river side. It was around a bend, so we didn't see it when we stopped. Fortunately, nothing came of it. Either the restaurant was empty or the diners didn't notice or didn't care about the naked men swimming in the river.

Argonaut,
It is always enjoyable to eat at a restaurant that provides dinner and a show.

Yes, and now I am curious as to why the old man and lady were under the bridge? Were they looking for a good spot to make-out or just wondering if there were any naked teenagers under there.

I think they were just out for a nature walk. There is a primitive trail along the river that connects with a pedestrian bridge which belongs to an upscale development with a golf course, condos, and high priced homes. I am sure the old couple did not expect to see a naked teenager on their nature walk. At least this happened back in the day when I was slim trim and physically fit. I would not have wanted to offend anyone’s sensibilities with an unsightly out of shape body.

They saw some real nature! They were probably thrilled. I'm sure they spent an hour afterward talking about how they used to skinny-dip back in the day.

back when I was young and dumb in my first marriage when my kids were little, my wife and I and another couple took our kids to the park,(the other couple did not have kids then). The park was a boat ramp on the river with a small sandy beach.I had not seen anyone swim there before, but we thought we would try. 4 adults and 3 small children were swimming in full view of a large 4 lane bridge. on a dare I removed my swimsuit and threw it on the beach, in a short time all adults were suitless. I know we were in full view of drivers if they looked in our direction. We enjoyed it for a while, no police came,(no cell phones then). The bad part was putting wet suits back on.

Back in the early 70's my Mother's best friend owned property at a big development up in the mountains west of Ft. Collins, Co. near the Wyoming border and she invited me to go camping with her. She had a big truck with a camper and I pitched my tent. We took daily walks and after a few days we were able to tell the time by just looking at the position of the sun or by just using our internal clocks. One time she was busy so I went walking by myself. I stripped at the stream with nobody around, I thought, and stayed in the water for only about 5 minutes since it was really cold. When the week was over neither one of us wanted to go back to so called civilization. Flash forward to 2006 when my wife and I visited her at her house in Southern Colorado and we were reminiscing about that camping trip when she brought up the time she saw me swimming naked and we both laughed.

No,it wouldn't have bothered me. She had been married for years and had 5 sons,it wouldn't have been like I had something she'd never seen before. Her youngest was 10, but now that I think about it I don't know where he was; I probably would have asked him to come along. If she had come up to where I was I probably would have talked to her while I got out, dried off(I had a towel) and gotten dressed.

This evening, an hour before dusk, I took a shower. Today, well past few days really were cold and wet. I got home moist and chilled from my days activities and really just needed to get clean, warm and relaxed. So I step out of the shower and look out the window and notice I can see the street from the bathroom, wait, it I can see them does that not mean they could see me? I could have sworn we had curtains and blinds this morning on that window. Turns out we did, my brother had the day off and got in a cleaning mood and decided to wash all the curtains and soak the blinds, have to admit do not know the last time we did that. So I was like, Wow I totally did not notice there was nothing covering the window when I walk in and got undressed in full view of the street, well Okay not FULL view but still in view of the street.

Goes to show I need to pay more attention to the little details and not take things for granted. Had to use the washroom before the window coverings were up and it is an interesting feeling and experience sitting on the toilet and watching all the people go by all of which are totally oblivious to what I was doing. I guess it is kind of like talking to someone on the phone while on the toilet, nothing wrong with it, it is just not expected or something you think about. Especially with the advent of cell phones, you never really know were or what the other person might be doing while talking to you.

My wife talked about the woman's bathrooms at the top of what we were told was the tallest building in Seattle. I guess the toilets face a large plate glass window with no curtains (floor to ceiling). Mind you the only person that could have seen you was in an airplane or helicopter she did feel exposed.

I have to attend tons of teleconferences, most of which I attend nude - in fact I have one coming up in a few minutes. I often wonder if the meeting would be different if they knew I was naked. Would they even talk to me?

This reminds me of a public bathroom they have in Texas I think. Here are the links to the pictures:

There is a burger joint in south Austin (Mighty Fine Burgers, Brodie Lane) that has a 2 way mirrored wall in the men's room. You can see out and into the big eating area, but all they see is a mirror for them. I didn't notice until I used the urinal, then turned around, shocked briefly to see the entire room. I washed my hands and went back out, then to the mirror, and sure enough, you can't see in. Strange.
